“We met in college, having joined the music wing of our cultural club. We were very different as individuals, with contrasting personalities but one thing in common- the shared the love for music, and a dream to make a career out of it. The first time we performed together at a college fest, was a smashing hit and we just clicked! Over the years we became good friends and enjoyed the experience of playing together. This is why it was almost natural when we decided to get a little serious and form our own band. A few of us weren’t even from Bombay, and we knew it would be quite the struggle, considering the fact that we were starting out as a Bollywood cover band, which isn’t the most “original” thing to do. However, we wanted to change this perception first, and eventually grow by performing our own songs. The name Jo aur Vo came up while we were just messing around, and it described us perfectly- young, fresh and exuberant! Our recent rendition of Zara Zara from Rehna Hai Tere Dil Me, got the attention of a lot of people, including Dia Mirza and R. Madhavan – who shared the video on Instagram and twitter! We were so stoked! This was actually happening. The idea of making music with our closest friends had just been a far-fetched dream, but we are watching it shape into reality, and it is the best feeling ever!”
